Suncook United Methodist Church

           Meet Our New Pastors...
Pastor Ruth Foss and Pastor Huntley Halvorson

Meet Ruth-

I was a Certified Lay Speaker from Wesley United Methodist in Concord, NH where I had been a member for over 3 years. I am a mother of 3 beautiful daughters  and have a wonderful husband named Ray who is one of the best gifts God has given me in my life.

In May of 2007 I received my BS from Springfield College School of Human Services where I graduated Suma Cum Laude and have been a student at BU School of Theology since the fall of 2007. I am a Certified Candidate for Ordained Ministry.

I have volunteered at the Shea Farm Half-Way House in Concord where I facilitated a Recovery Bible Study with the inmates. I also have volunteered at the Goffstown Correctional Facility where I facilitated the “Purpose Driven Life” bible study with the inmates.

I am a firm believer in “P.U.S.H” (Pray Until Something Happens). I have been in prayer about Suncook and know this is where God will have me be. I look forward, with anticipation, to what God has for me as well as for Suncook UMC around the bend.

Meet Huntley-

I have been serving United Methodist Churches in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Montana, most of the last 43 years. My wife Elaine and I have three children, Eric, Scott and Heidi.

When I am not working as a pastor, or around the house, I enjoy hiking, and reading in science, history, and Biblical studies. Elaine and I have been living in our home in Loudon since my first retirement, July, 2000. Since that time I have served three parishes on an interim basis and for the last 16 months, I have worked in the Grocery Department at the Hannaford Brother's Supermarket in Concord.

I accepted the invitation of the District Superintendent, John Blackadar to co-pastor the Suncook United Methodist Church, because of the positive spirit I have experienced in the congregation, since Elaine and I began to worship at the church last November, and because I believe the future for Suncook United Methodist Church will be an exciting, meaningful  time if we listen to what God is asking us to be.
