VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2009

Nineteen children attended SUMC's Vacation Bible School! They enjoyed an adventure camp, Camp E.D.G.E. where they learned to Experience and Discover God Everywhere!  The action-packed expedition taught the children that their strength and might come from God.  Rocking contemporary music, larger-than-life recreation games, mind-boggling science activities, extreme sports videos, and cool challenging crafts showed the children how to live on the E.D.G.E in their faith.  Extreme Bible treks introduced the children to Bible characters who have experienced and discovered God in many ways.  As each story was told, the children learned a pledge to encourage them to live on the E.D.G.E. everyday.

  • God is with me.  I will stay close to God.
  • God guides me.  I will follow.
  • God teaches me.  I will learn.
  • God loves me.  I will love God and others.
  • God sends me.  I will go.

All campers, young and old, had a wonderful time!  They celebrated the discoveries and learning of Camp E.D.G.E. with a Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning and singing and dancing during the Sunday Worship Service.  The children also proudly displayed the canned beans they collected for the food pantry as their Mission project.  We invite the children and their families to attend the final VBS session on Sunday, September 13, after church when all will find out what "the secret symbols mean".  Come and join in the fun!
